Caroline Bienstock to receive Songwriters Hall of Fame Abe Olman Publisher Award

Independent music publisher Caroline Bienstock will receive the Abe Olman Publisher Award at the 48th Annual Songwriters Hall of Fame (SHOF) Induction and Awards Dinner June 15 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York.

Bienstock is the president/CEO of Carlin America, Inc., the company her legendary late father Freddy Bienstock, named for her, and has served the family business for 28 years. Her mother Miriam was one of the founders of Atlantic Records.

"This year's Abe Olman Publisher Award recipient, Caroline Bienstock, has music business blood flowing in her veins from both of her parents," noted SHOF president/CEO Linda Moran. "She has taken a leading role in Carlin America for close to three decades and is highly regarded by her peers, colleagues and songwriters. She is also a visible industry leader who serves with distinction on many organization boards while ably guiding Carlin, one of the pre-eminent family-owned independent publishers in the world."

Named after one of the Songwriters Hall of Fame's founders, the Abe Olman Publisher Award goes to music publishers who have had a substantial number of songs that have become world-renowned and have furthered the careers and successes of many songwriters. Past recipients include Freddy Bienstock, Milt Okun, Martin Bandier, Irwin Robinson, Beebe Bourne and Ralph Peer.

The 2017 Songwriters Hall of Fame inductees are Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, Berry Gordy, the songwriting teams of Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis and the band Chicago's Robert Lamm and James Pankow, Max Martin, and Shawn "Jay Z" Carter. Ed Sheeran will receive the Hal David Starlight Award, and Pitbull will be the first-ever recipient of the Global Ambassador Award.

The Songwriters Hall of Fame celebrates and educates the public about songwriters, and produces professional programs devoted to the development of new songwriting talent.
