English visual arts publisher Laurence King Publishing brought lots of cool new product to this week’s NY NOW home/lifestyle/gift market trade show at New York’s Javits Center, including its Superhero SNAP! card game based on illustrator Jason Ford’s superheroes and villains, Amelia Earhart--Little Guides to Great Lives children’s book and Make and Move Mega: Creatures of the Deep undersea creatures press out-and-assemble book.

But the company highlighted Manifesto: The Art Movements Game with big red signage on its exhibitor’s booth wall. Due in April, the card game is based on “Go Fish,“ but is inspired by artists and art history.

“Instead of asking for ‘eights,’ you might ask, ‘Have any abstract expressionists?’” explained San Francisco-based U.S. rep Anastasia Scott, and sure enough, there are cards for abstract expressionism, constructivism, pop art, surrealism, impressionism and New York graffiti among 13 art movements represented, with the cards also featuring 52 artists including Keith Haring, Andy Warhol, Pablo Picasso and Frida Khalo.

Illustrated by Lauren Tamaki, Manifesto is due in April, when it joins other Laurence King art product including Clash of the Titians—An Old Masters Top Score Game, Art Oracles—Creataive & Life Inspiration from the Great Artists and The Art Game—An Artists Top Score Game.
