Fire design brings custom extinguishers to NY NOW

Fire design extinguishers at NY NOW

That virtually any useful item—pens, cups, clips, candles, containers, etc.—can be emblazoned with a promotional logo was made clear last week at French manufacturer Fire design’s display area at the winter NY NOW home/lifestyle/gift market trade show at New York’s Javits Center.

Fire design, as the name may suggest, has to do with fire extinguishers, though in French law the word “extinguisher” refers to a product with very strict specifications including its being red in color and with legal notices written in white. As Fire design product can be of any color and is often customized with designs, it cannot legally be called “extinguisher,” and is instead called an “extinguishing device.”

Semantics aside, Fire design manufactures the devices in numerous solid colors, and if so desired, also applies illustrative stickers. These bear artwork provided by customers or licensed, with licensees include AC/DC, Von Dutch and New York City’s MTA (Metropolitan Transit Authority). There’s also a French wine bottle design packaged in a wooden gift box.

Customization is free, and with over 1,000 models so far, Fire design also offers free and unlimited refills.
